Julie and Martin Carrick embarked on their own weight loss research after struggling to achieve results with diet plans that are on the market .
And now Julie aged 60 and Martin aged 62 are hoping to help others with their book ‘Losing It – It’s Not What You Eat, But What you Don’t Eat That Matters!’
Julie said: “Eighteen months ago we were at the end of our tethers after trying various diets and health regimes without success, so we decided to do our own research. The results we have discovered have been a lifestyle change with extra ordinary success.
“Between us we have lost 12 stone in weight, Martin five stone, myself seven stone, in the first six months.
“We are still at our target weight today, 17 months after reaching our targets!”
In February of 2018 Julie weighed 16 stone and 13lbs and was wearing a size 22 in clothes, while her husband, Martin, weighed in at 18 stone and 7lbs and was an XXL.
Just 18 months later, Julie, 60, had lost seven stone, weighed nine stone, 13lbs and was a very trim size eight, while 62 year old Martin had lost five stone, was down to 13 stone, 7lbs, and had swapped his extra, extra large shirts to mediums.
The couple who relocated to Keasden in North Yorkshire, nine-years ago decided to share their story in a bid to help others struggling to get into shape.
Julie said: “Lots of our friends and relatives have asked us how we did it, some challenged or dared us to write this book.
“It not only gives you an insight into our incredible journey, our experiences down an extremely rocky road, which was filled with conflicting theories and opinions around diet, nutrition, fitness and well being!
