READING — Fitness Within announces that Dr. Katie Mahoney of Reading has joined the company’s personal training staff. Katie will provide one-on-one training, small-group training and bootcamp-style fitness instruction to Fitness Within clients on Sundays. She is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences and is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning specialist.
“Katie is a welcome addition to our outstanding training staff. We have watched her physical transformation as a client for the past two years and watched her develop a deep passion for fitness and wellness. I am excited that she can now share that passion with our clients,” said Domenic Prisco, Fitness Within Studio Director and Owner.
Since 2012, Katie has been providing exceptional care for all of her patients as a physical therapist. By improving mobility, reducing pain, and teaching people how to prevent re-injury, she has been able to help patients avoid surgery and the need for long term prescriptions. After acquiring her NSCA certification she has been able to provide that next level of care, bridging the gap between physical therapy and personal training — a key to avoiding the nightmare story of a client getting injured under the supervision of a personal trainer.
“The truth is, most personal trainers aren’t expected to know rehabilitation protocols or any of the long-term effects of injuries, surgeries or medical conditions, which puts trainers in this demographic a little out of their pay grade,” says Prisco. “At Fitness Within, Katie will motivate you, provide you with the accountability you need and deserve, and she will be with you every step of the way towards reaching your fitness goals.
“Katie, along with the rest of Fitness Within’s knowledgeable trainers have changed the game entirely. Our approach to fitness and wellness is unparalleled in the industry, ranking us the No. 1 personal-training studio in the area,” Prisco said.
To schedule an informational session with Katie, call the studio at 781-942-2919 and ask for Domenic Prisco or Robin Krane.
